Speedbird comes equipped with a meticulously maintained deck and rigging setup designed for optimal performance and reliability. Her part-battened mainsail and furling genoa (140%) were both replaced in 2020 and 2021, ensuring her sails are in perfect condition and ready to handle any challenge. The standing rigging remains in exceptional original condition, supported by new running rigging from 2021. The excellent 25kg Rocna anchor (2021) with 70m of chain (2023) is deployed from a Lofrans 1200W windlass, ensuring Speedbird is rock-solid at anchor on any seabed. Additionally, a full helm with a 1.2m diameter leather-covered wheel makes her easy to handle on either tack – or when it’s time to relax, her retractable swim platform is the perfect place to chillout and to access the warm Mediterranean waters.

Her electronics are equally impressive, with a 2019 B&G chart plotter with WiFi, a Garmin chart plotter, EPIRB, and a high-quality VHF (fixed & handheld) with AIS capability. Solar panels (420W, installed in 2022) and a modern 500W inverter provide ample power for extended trips. Below deck, the Perkins 50hp engine (fully overhauled in 2015) has approximately 3000 hours in total and delivers consistent, efficient performance.

Speedbird offers a beautifully designed interior that balances practicality and style. She is an 8-berth boat with three spacious cabins (6 berths), including a v-berth with en-suite heads/shower, as well as a further heads/shower with holding tank accessible from the salon.

Original furnishings throughout, a double-leaf dining table, huge refrigerator (150 litres), 3-burner ENO stove, and 240V/12V sockets everywhere highlight her luxurious yet functional design. With 460 litres of freshwater capacity, a 120-litre fuel tank, and LED lighting installed in 2020, she is fully equipped for long-distance cruising or extended stays onboard.

Reason for selling – My work commitments have grown significantly, leaving me with very little time to sail. Speedbird is not a boat to just sit on the dock—she’s built to race across horizons, explore distant coastlines, and embrace the open sea.
